So How Do You Provisioning For A Two-Week Sailing Trip In The Caribbean, Anyway?

It goes something like this.

09:00 AM Stuff faces with croissants, I try my first chocolate eclair (and approve)

10:00 AM Barely catch window to reserve rental car to provision, due to aforementioned above eclair face stuffing. It’s a holiday, and the French don’t play.

11:45 AM Make it across the island (it’s a huge island) to the airport, just in time to catch shift change. A game of one-legged paper biting ensues to pass the time.

12:30 PM Orange bag of regret is retrieved.

02:30 PM Discover tiny frog in the grocery store while provisioning. I set it free.

03:30 PM I try my French with a Portuguese girl offering Sol beer samples, fail, overzealously flex my Portuguese language skills, saying “Rain” with spirit fingers, enjoy my beer shot and continue provisioning with my big fat American smile on my face.

06:00 PM Return to the boat, I cook Blood Sausage a la Low Country Boil. We don’t tell Laura she’s eating Blood Sausage until after the fact. We all conclude it tastes exactly like Thanksgiving stuffing.

08:00 PM Danny tries his skill at one-legged paper biting, nails it within 5 tries. We’re pissed.

09:00 PM Pass out.
